Monitor Systems expands engineering team with two new appointments

In support of UK and international contracts, Monitor Systems has expanded its engineering team with the recent appointment of Ewan McPherson and Alex Burgess.

Darren Anderson - Engineering Manager, commented “It’s been a pleasure welcoming Ewan and Alex to the team, they have already shown themselves to be highly capable of working within our engineering division. The two new appointments will allow us to continue providing systems to our high standards, continue our research and development into the latest Marine and Drilling technologies for our industry, allowing operators to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime via the use of advanced PLC & SCADA based instrumentation and control systems.”

Joining the team as Project Engineer, Ewan McPherson has many years previous experience in instrumentation system maintenance and commissioning within the oil & gas industry, and further experience working as a verification engineer for an independent verification body. Ewan shall support Monitor Systems in supplying class approved instrumentation and automation systems to the energy industry. “I am currently completing my degree in Electronic & Electrical engineering, and look forward to progressing my career with Monitor Systems.”

Also joining the team is Project Technician, Alex Burgess. Having completed his engineering apprenticeship and cut his teeth designing and building control panels along with substantial CAD design work, Alex has now started to further his knowledge of software planning & development for use in instrumentation and control systems. “Monitor Systems is a major player in instrumentation and control systems design and manufacture, and the opportunity to be part of the engineering team was very attractive. I’m really enjoying my position here, the team has been very welcoming, and I’ve enjoyed applying my skills to new systems based on the latest industry developments.”
